Diodes have to only allow current in one direction. If bad, change diodes. Last step is change the encoder IC if all above turns out fine. Obviously this repair isn't for a noob or someone that doesn't have the correct tools and skillset. And it is news to me that a component cable can output p. It was my understanding that only i can be achieved by component, which isn't quite HDMI output, but hardly noticeable to the naked eye.
Last edited: Feb 3, DeViL , Feb 3, That's a hardware failure as people already mentioned, you have two options. Its a ps3 problem. Ad a 37 dollar belkin hdmi switch after the reciever and before the display.
Fixes hdcp handshake problem. I just did this tonight. Couldnt find any reliable info so I wanted to post it somewhere. You do need an extra hdmi cable to do this but it works like a charm. Attached my PC to port and it worked. Reattached PS3 using PC cable, and it worked. I thought then it must be the old HDMI cable, but used that on something else, and it worked. If the hdmi cable is have issue with the handshake only thing will fix it a new hdmi or switch that will handle it for it would been cheaper to just get another hdmi cable, but what ever works is best for you i guess.

Then did it again. But now i feel the ps3 start up and start spinning the disc. Then it just shuts off, no beeps. I've unplugged cord. Replugged every cord.. Any one know what i should do now? I've got both tv and ps3 unplugged now, waiting on a hero to help…. Bryn Trainor theandroidkid.
Your ps3 is bricked. Cookie cookie Weldon Rhoades daggeroth. With unit on. Press and hold the power button. It'll usually beep in about 10 seconds. This is indicating it has changed from rbg to hdmi cord. Cole drakenkin. Thanks all I had to do was turn my ps3 off then when I turn it on I hold the power button for 5 seconds then after that i just had to wait a few more seconds.
